About Team Yasmin

I first came to Kundiman as a Mentorship Lab fellow in 2020, and was unsure of who I was as a writer. Working with my mentor and meeting the other fellows, especially during the lonely, strange first year of the pandemic, grounded me as a writer and a member of a community of creative people who were thinking critically and thoughtfully about race, politics, immigration, and how to represent all of that in language. Attending the retreat a few years later was an experience of joy and wonder--of meeting kindred spirits, of reveling in our creative expression, and of singing karaoke into the night. Your donation to this campaign will help support future fellows, making it possible for them to attend with less financial burden.
